Further Information
The Pulsar Wildlife Alaris XQ30 is equipped with a pro-grade 384×288, 17µm thermal sensor paired with a high-performance 30mm f1.2 germanium objective lens, delivering exceptional thermal detection at distances of up to 1050 metres. Its impressive <20 mK sNETD sensitivity ensures ultra-low noise, producing high-contrast thermal images with outstanding detail — even in challenging weather conditions such as fog, rain, and cold mornings.
Three Sensitivity Amplification Levels
For superior adaptability, the Alaris XQ30 offers three sensitivity amplification settings, each supported by advanced filtration algorithms and fine-tuned brightness/contrast controls. These settings optimise image rendering across a wide range of environmental and weather conditions, dramatically improving the user’s ability to detect, identify, and track wildlife at varying distances.
Wide Field of View
With its 23.3 m @ 100 m (13.3°) wide field of view, the Alaris XQ30 excels in scanning and search applications. This generous FOV makes it easier to locate heat sources quickly, while still allowing for detailed inspection of nearby animals or points of interest. The broad view ensures complete situational awareness throughout the entire observation area.
Picture-in-Picture (PiP) Mode
PiP mode provides a magnified window within the top 10% of the display, enabling close examination of a subject without losing visibility of the wider scene. This feature significantly improves target identification while maintaining total control over the surrounding environment.
High-Contrast AMOLED Display
The XQ30 features a crisp 600×400 AMOLED display, delivering sharp, smooth, and richly contrasted thermal imagery. The screen maintains excellent colour accuracy and performance in cold conditions, ensuring a consistent viewing experience even during frosty early-morning observation sessions.
Compact, Ergonomic & Rugged Design
Despite its advanced capabilities, the Alaris XQ30 remains remarkably compact and lightweight, making it comfortable for extended use and effortless to carry on long walks or birdwatching sessions.
Its four-button ergonomic layout ensures intuitive single-handed operation, providing easy access to key digital features with minimal movement.
The magnesium alloy housing offers exceptional durability, resisting everyday bumps and knocks while shedding heat efficiently to maintain optimal performance. With an IPX7 waterproof rating, the Alaris XQ30 stays fully operational in heavy rain, giving users complete confidence in harsh outdoor environments.
