PIXFRA Arc A604 Pro Thermal Imaging Monocular for Wildlife Research & Ecology

The PIXFRA Arc A604 Pro is a specialist thermal imaging monocular for ecologists, wildlife researchers and conservation teams. Combining a 640×512 thermal sensor with an exceptionally wide 102° field of view, it provides a broad view of wildlife activity in daylight and complete darkness.

From observing bats around emergence points to monitoring nocturnal mammals, the Arc A604 Pro helps researchers locate movement and follow animal behaviour without relying on visible illumination.

Wide-Area Wildlife Observation

The ultra-wide field of view allows more of the survey area to remain visible at once. This can be particularly useful when observing flight activity, monitoring habitat edges or following several animals within the same scene.

Supporting Bat Surveys

For bat emergence and activity surveys, thermal imaging can add a visual record alongside acoustic monitoring. The broad viewing angle helps observers follow movement around a selected roost entrance or flight corridor. Thermal footage supports interpretation of activity; species identification requires appropriate supporting evidence.

Sensitive Thermal Imaging

A 640×512, 12μm detector with <18mK NETD sensitivity reveals subtle temperature differences, helping distinguish animals from their surroundings. Visibility depends on thermal contrast and an unobstructed view of the subject.

Exceptional Close Focus

A minimum focusing distance of just 20mm enables close examination of surface heat patterns, extending its usefulness to detailed research observations where suitable thermal contrast is present.

Recording and Team Observation

Built-in video recording with audio and 32GB internal storage allow observations to be reviewed after fieldwork. Tripod mounting supports a fixed survey view, while PIXFRA app connectivity enables image sharing with up to four smartphones.
