The Hawke Frontier APO represents one of the most optically advanced binocular ranges from Hawke. Its apochromatic lens system is engineered to bring different wavelengths of light into more precise alignment, providing exceptional control of chromatic aberration and dramatically reducing unwanted colour fringing around high-contrast subjects.

Extra-low Dispersion glass works with wide-band, fully multi-coated optics to produce crisp detail, high contrast and natural-looking colour. This makes the Frontier APO particularly well suited to identifying subtle feather patterns, plumage colours and distinguishing features when watching birds and wildlife.

A flat-field optical design helps retain clarity and sharpness towards the edges of the image, creating a more immersive viewing experience. High-resolution, phase-corrected BAK-4 roof prisms feature dielectric mirror coatings for excellent light transmission, while the wide-angle optical system makes it easier to locate and follow moving subjects.

The 8x42 model provides a wide 142m field of view at 1,000 metres, helping users scan larger areas and follow birds in flight. Its 5.3mm exit pupil and steady 8x magnification also make it a versatile choice for prolonged handheld observation.

The 10x42 model provides increased magnification for studying more distant wildlife and fine detail. Despite its higher power, it retains a generous 124m field of view at 1,000 metres and an immersive 71° apparent field of view.

Both variants feature a lightweight magnesium alloy chassis with protective rubber armouring for a secure, comfortable grip. Water-repellent exterior lens coatings help maintain a clear view in damp conditions, while nitrogen-purged construction makes the binoculars waterproof and fog-proof.
