PIXFRA Mile 3 M335 Thermal Monocular - Further Information

The PIXFRA Mile 3 M335 uses a 384 × 288, 12μm vanadium oxide thermal detector to reveal heat signatures without requiring visible light. Its excellent ≤15mK NETD sensitivity distinguishes small temperature differences within the scene, helping preserve detail around animals and their surroundings in demanding conditions.

A fast F0.9 aperture allows a high level of thermal energy to reach the sensor. Combined with its 35mm objective lens, the M335 provides increased base magnification and longer detection performance, making it particularly well suited to scanning fields, moorland, wetlands and other open habitats.

The monocular offers 2.5× base magnification and continuous digital zoom from 1× to 8×, producing a combined magnification range of approximately 2.5–20×. Its stated detection distance of up to 1,800 metres supports effective scanning across larger areas, while manual focus allows the image to be refined for subjects at different distances.

PIXFRA’s PIPS 3.0 Pro technology processes the thermal image to improve detail, clarity and contrast. The upgraded 0.49-inch OLED display has a resolution of 1920 × 1080, providing a sharp and comfortable viewing experience through the eyepiece.

Six thermal colour palettes are available: White Hot, Black Hot, Iron Red, Alarm, Green Hot and Sepia. These allow the image presentation to be adapted to different habitats, lighting conditions and personal preferences.

Picture-in-Picture mode magnifies the central area of the image while retaining awareness of the wider scene. Hot Spot Tracking identifies and marks the warmest area, while the integrated digital compass can help users maintain their direction during extended observation sessions.

Photographs and videos can be captured directly to the monocular’s built-in 64GB storage. An integrated microphone records audio with compatible video files, while the local album enables saved images and recordings to be reviewed on the device.

Built-in Wi-Fi provides compatible wireless connectivity for viewing, downloading and sharing captured media through supported PIXFRA services. Automatic, semi-automatic and manual calibration options allow operation to be adjusted according to the observation conditions.

A quick-change rechargeable 18650 lithium battery provides at least 5.5 hours of operation at 25°C with Wi-Fi switched off. The replaceable design allows a charged spare battery to be carried for longer wildlife surveys and observation sessions.

The durable magnesium-alloy construction is rated to IP67 for protection against dust and temporary water immersion. Measuring approximately 170.5mm long and weighing no more than 310g, the Mile 3 M335 remains compact and comfortable to carry outdoors.
