PIXFRA Mile 3 M325 Thermal Monocular - Further Information
The PIXFRA Mile 3 M325 uses a 384 × 288, 12μm vanadium oxide thermal detector to identify heat signatures without relying on visible light. Its excellent ≤15mK NETD sensitivity distinguishes subtle temperature differences within a scene, helping retain detail around animals and their surroundings in challenging conditions.
A fast F0.9 aperture allows more thermal energy to reach the sensor, supporting a clearer and more informative image. The 25mm objective lens provides a practical balance between detection distance and field of view, making the M325 suitable for scanning a variety of habitats.
The monocular offers 1.8× optical magnification and continuous digital zoom from 1× to 8×, producing a combined magnification range of approximately 1.8–14.4×. Its stated detection distance of up to 1,300 metres assists with locating heat sources across larger areas, while the one-metre close-focus distance supports observation at much shorter ranges.
PIXFRA’s PIPS 3.0 Pro technology processes the thermal image to improve detail, contrast and overall display quality. The upgraded 0.49-inch OLED screen has a resolution of 1920 × 1080, providing a sharp and comfortable view through the eyepiece.
Six colour palettes—White Hot, Black Hot, Iron Red, Alarm, Green Hot and Sepia—allow the image presentation to be adapted to different environments and personal preferences. Picture-in-Picture mode can magnify the central area while retaining the wider scene, and Hot Spot Tracking marks the warmest part of the image.
Photographs and videos can be recorded directly to the monocular’s built-in 64GB storage. An integrated microphone adds audio to compatible recordings, while the local album allows saved media to be viewed directly on the device.
Built-in Wi-Fi enables compatible wireless connectivity for viewing and sharing through supported PIXFRA services. The M325 also includes a digital compass, standby mode and automatic, semi-automatic or manual calibration options.
A quick-change rechargeable 18650 lithium battery provides at least 5.5 hours of operation at 25°C with Wi-Fi switched off. The replaceable design makes carrying a charged spare battery practical during longer observation sessions.
The durable magnesium-alloy body is rated to IP67 for protection against dust and temporary water immersion. With a weight of no more than 300g and compact dimensions, the Mile 3 M325 is easy to carry during extended wildlife surveys, nature walks and nocturnal observation.
