Hawke Frontier LRF Binoculars - Further Information

Designed for observers who want premium binocular performance and reliable distance information in one instrument, the Hawke Frontier LRF offers sharp optics alongside a highly accurate integrated laser rangefinder. It is ideal for surveying wetlands, following birds across open countryside, estimating the distance to wildlife or understanding the scale of a landscape.

Hawke’s System H7 optics use wide-band, anti-reflection and fully multi-coated lenses to maximise light transmission and deliver a bright, detailed image. A water-repellent lens coating helps maintain a clear view during damp or changeable weather, while the patented prism system incorporates a beam-split coating for effective optical and rangefinding performance.

Distance readings are presented through a red OLED display with six manually adjustable brightness levels. This allows the display to remain clear against anything from shaded woodland to a bright open sky. Available functions include standard distance, horizontal distance, angle, rain and near-object measurement modes, giving nature watchers useful options for different surroundings and subjects.

The 8x42 variant provides a generous 131m field of view at 1,000m, making it particularly well suited to scanning broad habitats and following moving birds. Its rangefinder measures from 10m to 1,800m. The 10x42 model offers greater magnification for observing more distant detail, with a 105m field of view and an extended measuring range of up to 2,300m.

Both models provide measurements accurate to approximately ±1m and feature replaceable twist-up eyecups with 16mm eye relief. An IPX7 waterproof construction provides dependable protection outdoors, while automatic shut-off after 15 seconds helps preserve the CR2 battery.
